wow! where can i find 1,2 and 3 please??
Absolute tragedy that the Johnny Kidd version has not been included. Every other rendition pales to insignificance compared to the original.
Obviously you did not quite get it, this is no. 4 of a series of 7 (so far) compilations, and of course, Johnny Kidd and the Pirates' version was included on no. 1. I'll upload the other 4 (maybe more if I've got the time) in due course. I've uploaded only 3 of theose Shakin' All Over compilations so far.
Thanks for listening anyway.
Man from Mordor, I've uploaded nos. 3, 4 and 6 of the Shakin' All Over compilations on my blog. I'll upload nos. 1, 2, 5 and 7 in the future - just be patient. And if I find the time I'll continue the series as I've got dozens of additional versions.
Thanks for your comment and thanks for listening.
Hi Big Beat and Power Pop
Yes, you are quite right - I didn't get it and it was my own fault for not reading things properly. Apolpgies, mea culpa - yet another senior moment on my part
Many thanks for making the other sets available. My connection with Johnny Kidd is that, although he was two or three years older than me, we came from the same streets of Willesden, North London.
Many thanks and cheers :-)
Man from Mordor,
so you lived in the same street as Johnny K. Did you ever meet him, see him? Of course, I'm a big fan and a followed the Pirates into this century. I've got some memorabelia of Johnny and the Pirates. On my website "Shakin' All Over" (don't get it wrong - it's about the German 60s music scene) but Johnny played in Germany also and you can find an unpublished photo live on stage under "Clubs...".
Many thanks for following my blog.
Have a nice Easter!
