VINCE TAYLOR rare 1973 recordings by Mr Cadillac
In 1973 Vince Taylor, the legendary UK rock ‘n’ roller big in France, recorded an album under the guidance of Larry Martin. Nobody was interested in a kind of Rock ‘n’ Roll revival act then, though the sessions brought forth a number of songs that would have fitted in the burgeoning Pub Rock scene perfectly.
The sessions were only released later on incredibly rare albums on mostly obscure labels. I’ve got a rare cassette copy of it, which is of varying sound quality. Nevertheless, I’d like to make this document of “Mr. Brand New Cadillac” known to more than just a few insiders, as most of these tracks really rock. And the band throw in a few great originals as well.
The whole affair starts a bit wobbly, due to tape damage, but the sound soon gets better. I also transferred some tracks to mono as the stereo tracks were lacking clarity.
