THE GOSPEL OF FREAKDOMaccording to Luke Haines and Sonic Smith-d
Inspired by Luke Haines' book “Freaks Out!” I considered it a good idea to start a series – however small – of Freaks compilations. Plenty of people to chose from. It looks like you get your money’s worth (as it is for free, anyway) with no. 1. There are more to come – just give me some time. Meanwhile enjoy this one – a cool starter, isn’t it?

2. CATHAL COUGHLAN w/ THE GRAND NECROPOLITAN SEXTETT WIDENING THE GRAVEL ROAD (Irish with high cheekbones, a must be Freak)
3. GRACE JONES CORPORATE CANNIBAL (femme fatale et Freak fatale)
4. LUKE HAINES ADVENTURES IN DIMENTIA (self-proclaimed Freak & author of Freaks Out!)
5. EARL BRUTUS BLIND DATE (Nick Sanderson et al. were making their gigs a Freakshow)
6. THE INCREDIBLE STRING BAND THE MAD HATTER‘S SONG (Mike Heron - a Freak dancing without movement?)
7. HASIL ADKINS SHE SAID (the 50s‘ mad one-man-band from the hicks in the sticks - not on drugs or?)
8. THE FALL IMPRESSION OF J. TEMPERANCE (Mark E. Smith qualifies for an A1 Freak)
9. REMA-REMA REMA-REMA (Marco Pirroni‘s tribal noise Freakout)
10. JESSE HECTOR & THE GATECRASHERS IN MY SOUL (live at the Beeb) (Hammersmith‘s guerilla Jesse H. (who‘d wear three different haircuts at the same time) has been a bona fide Freak throughout his life; I had the honour of releasing a record with him.)
11. SIMONES WELCOME TO THE ASTRAL PLANE (Al Simones: 20 years in the studio w/out a live show - Freak exceptionnelle!)

Thank you very much for "Freaks Galore 1" and for "We Gotta Move!" There are a lot of unfamiliar (to me) tracks on these two compilations, but I will say I'm a Hasil Adkins fan from way back, so it's good to see you've included "She Said."
