DUTCH GUITARS - Pre-NEDERBEAT instrumentals - Lowland's flight in the early 60s

In some of the older posts you can lend an ear to Nederbeat, 60s music of extraordinary quality, music that I cherish very much. In fact I’ve stressed my obsession with 60s music from the Lowlands. The Netherlands or better Holland were just across the border and thus accessible. So was Germany for the Dutchmen and that’s why many Dutch bands graced the German clubs.

However, there was a time before Nederbeat, on the one hand there were the bands with Indonesian backgrounds, the guitarists with the magic fingers, but also native lowlanders trying their hands at some rockin’ music. Dutch Guitars is a compilation of pre-Nederbeat instrumental music, be it influenced by The Shadows,  The Spotnicks or American instrumental bands. Some of the bands shared a liking for the exotic. But they all had the one or other ace up their sleeves. Dutch Guitars naturally is guitars upfront, and it’s ironic that it is The Hurricane Strings track that is dominated by a Joe-Meek-type organ. And yes, The Toreros were spelled differently by their record label.

Thanks Crab Devil! You're always welcome on Big Beat and Power Pop.
Part 2 of the Dutch instrumentals is the better one.
