They were a force in and around Neuwied. They released two singles, and these weren’t the worst either. You can find their story along with some photos in the book „Shakin‘ All Over – die Beatmusik in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 1963-1967“ (ISBN 978-3-946502-11-1). The Silhouettes started in 1959, but were actually active since 1961. They soon won a fanbase and gulped down Shadows instrumentals like pints of best bitter. When the Beatwave hit Germany, they had their harmony vocals in top shape. Klaus Berger, lg, Alfred „Fred“ Hannig, rg, Hans Grün, dr, Rolf Störing, b, and (since 1964) Dietmar Richter, rg, played a lot of prestigious dates – to the official press ball of the government of the Federal Republic of Germany they were invited as living proof of how progressive the German government was, and Chancellor Ludwig Erhard’s cigar was never the same afterwards. They also appeared on TV and the two tracks here are from their live performance in Dieter Pröttel’s „Talentschuppen“ (Südwestfunk TV, 1967)
- The Silhouettes – In The Midnight Hour (live “Talentschuppen”, 1967
- The Silhouettes – To Love Somebody (live “Talentschuppen”, 1967)
