The Thanes were a rough and tough Garage Beat band from Pasing, a district of Munich. They were a long-haired four-piece featuring Peter „Jason“ Selbeck, lead guitar and vocals, Wolfgang „Wopu“ Pucher, bass, Richard „Ulli“ Ullmann, rhythm guitar and vocals, and Gerard „Gary“ Langhans, drums. They released two singles on the independent Meilton label. Their story along with a couple of photos can be read in the book „Shakin‘ All Over – die Beatmusik in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland 1963-1967“ (ISBN 978-3-946502-11-1) as well as in the extensive booklet accompanying the digi-sleeve CD „Die München Szene“ (Bear Family BCD 16470 AR), both written by Hans-Jürgen Klitsch. The CD contains their four 7“ record tracks. What you get here is copied from an acetate that was found some time ago.
